Provides for smoother insertion and enhanced patient comfort through the hydrogel coatings unique ability to absorb fluid, thus creating a hydrophilic “cushion” between the catheter surface and the urethra. Hydrophilic coating helps reduce irritation of the urethral mucosa which minimizes encrustation.
